ACCEGLIO – PUNTA CULOUR

The starting point is from Acceglio, the last common reascending the Val Maira, follow for Chiappera along the carriageable, the climb is hard especially after the village of Vallar when you turn right following the signs to Lausetti, the climb becomes less difficult after Borgata di Colombata, where we meet a wide dirt road.

At 4.7 km turn right on the bridge of the river Mollasco (1.610 m) and rises through the hard switchbacks approaching a group of huts, you find a patch of conifers and wide grasslands, to the next junction turn right and follow the yellow markings of the P.O. and you get to km 9 near a “malga” where the cartroad ends (1.890 m), to follow the path towards the large grassy saddle on the right.
With a few tracts made on foot you arrive at Colle Sarasin (2.040 m), at km 10 the patch begins to descend on the opposite side of the hill always following the yellow marks across the slopes of the Vallone di Ussolo with a technical single-track until that crossed a river you follow the dirt uneven road at the beginning.

You take a small path on the left and to km 12 you arrive at the bivouac CAI Ussolo Hut (1.830 m), to take again the path leaved just before Borgata Chioligiera, downhill on a fluid cartroad up to Borgata Vallone, from here you continue down reaching the cartroad for Acceglio, cross it and you go down to the Borgata Maddalena until you pass a bridge over the river Maira then continue to the right of the track through the forest up to Acceglio passing for Borgata Frere and continue along the dirt gravel road along the road on the left, just after a hotel near an abandoned ski lift.
