PIETRAPORZIO – PASSO SOTTANO DI SCOLETTAS

Starting point from Pietraporzio, to cross the river Stura and after a hairpin bend to the left reclimbing the Vallone del Piz on a climb in asphalt ignoring all the branches until to reach Piano della Regina at km 1.8 (1.480 m) from where the dirt road begins.
Taking the right after a passage between the larch trees there are the more hard slopes until you pass a series of hairpin bends, from here the slope of the military road decreases, at km 6.8 there is a junction where you turn right and following the signs for Passo Sottano di Scolettas.

The road bottom becomes more rough and after a few hard bends you pass through a military tunnel up to the Passo Sottano di Scotellas at km 7.5 (m 2.223), from here down on the side of the Vallone di Pontebernardo keeping the right following the signs for the Refuge Talarico, and then fast technical descent passing through a wide plain crossed by a stream, then you found a wide dirt track which becomes an asphalt road until the village of Pontebernardo avoiding the junction to the left for Murenz.
Come back to Pietraporzio keeping the right on the forest path uphill into the woods of conifers.
